CHURCH OF THE KING IN LAKE CHARLES RENEWED AFTER NATURAL DISASTERS

Over the past several years, Lake Charles, LA has experienced four natural disasters: two hurricanes, one flood, and one ice storm. These kinds of catastrophic events can devastate whole communities, not just individuals but those who congregate regularly.

Church of the King was one of those impacted communities. Their facility suffered hurricane damage, which pushed them to break ground for a new church building and create a fresh start. Their desire was to expand and add a new location utilizing designated funding from FEMA for the project.

PUTTING TOGETHER THE PERFECT CHURCH DESIGN PLAN

With all of the ongoing construction due to storm damage, hiring a builder outside of the area would have been a challenge. Fortunately, the Church of the King had partnered with Churches By Daniels before on a design project so the choice to partner with us again was easy for the congregation. This time the partnership includes both design and construction. Church of the King was given a set of floor plans from a well-known church in the area. Starting the design process with a walk-through of the facility’s plans for intended use, we identified some areas that would not facilitate the ministry’s needs and were able to adjust their plans accordingly. Even with these adjustments, the overall vision of the new facility was kept intact. Construction for the 39,000 sq. ft. facility will begin in April of 2023. The civil engineering and soil testing during our due diligence helped to uncover the most cost-effective location for building placement on the property.
