A Blessed Opportunity to Expand
Several years ago, God gave Franklin Christian Church and Pastor David Welch an opportunity to purchase property just down the road from their current campus to a new location with over 25 acres of land.
After nearing capacity at their current facility, worship space size was at a premium. The new building will allow the ministry to reach new communities and gather in fellowship.
A New Space for a Congregation Overflowing with Faith
When completed, this new church will fulfill several needs. The pre-construction planning phase began in 2016, focusing on the programming and requirements for the space.
The design of the new facility will welcome congregants into large, open gathering spaces with plenty of natural light and stadium-style seating to hold a growing population of worshippers. The project called for full design services including civil engineering, architect, mechanical, electric, plumbing, and interior plus a complete audio-visual infrastructure.
Franklin Christian Church’s new location is a gorgeous, natural wonder. The Churches By Daniels team worked to ensure the building would blend well with these surroundings. The building will have an Exterior Insulation and Finish System and stone for a peaceful, warm first impression.
Overcoming Obstacles to Help Share the Word
Franklin Christian Church is a ground-up construction project which includes schematic design, permitting, and site work.
The new site for the church was preselected before Churches By Daniels came on board, with some existing structural issues that require civil engineering, utilities, and the addition of retention ponds. Through the design and architecture process, it was clear the facility needed to move to the back of the property for engineering purposes, paving the way for a winding, tree-lined entry to the church.
During the permitting process, the church was under contract to sell its existing building. It became necessary for the design team to reduce the project by $4 million. Through value engineering, we made slight changes to meet the required reduction in budget.
